Are we really our appearance and our habits? If so, what were we before we developed habits? Before we were born? When we were a single cell, or maybe even before that?
When do “we” come in to the picture of Firstname Lastname?
he realised something during a dream. he took it as a lesson. he awoke and referd to himself in 3rd person.
i think the the people who like this song are the only ones who listen to it. Because he lets his fans reach out to him instead of him reaching out to the fans.
okay…I listened to the song quite a lot…and I think I got now what it means
I do, but that leads into something of my own personal life that I’d rather not discus in the open.
There’s one part of the lyrics I can’t really get the meaning out of…”Thank you for the lessons I learned while John was sleeping”…Has anybody a thought on that one?
Frush’s solo work needs to be looked at in a different light to his writing in RHCP, it’s has a stronger freeflowing feeling rather than the forced stadium anthems he writes in the band.
It’s not just music for music’s sake.
this song is about my looking into my heart and talking to him in his sleep. and god was telling me look man hes just a man, no different than you, yo uare at least as powerful as him yo ucan do anything, and he looked directly at me like i was in his dreams, look at the the end he talks about it

Hey, wow… that wasn’t a cheap shot at Frusciante. I love all of his music with all my musical heart. i was just saying that im surprised his record company hasn’t removed the tracks from The Empyrean yet, like they’ve removed all his other albums.

This is pretty damn good, I can see why he left it out though. It’s not the best, and lyrically it doesn’t really fit into the album. He was trying to very much create a clear story…anyone interested should check his site, he’s written some awesome stuff.
