Todd Rundgren interview at South by Southwest in 2009 about how he recorded his latest album “Arena” using RiffWorks and Reason. “I found a program called RiffWorks that allowed me to connect through ReWire to Reason. I could set up a loop and grab takes, then continually loop over that section until I was satisfied. Id export the takes that I wanted and clean them up in Audacity. For some reason, Todd’s speaking voice is very comforting. Also, Arena kicks ass, go buy it if you haven’t yet.
Todd isindeed a boffin. Also his voice is an enigma . When speaking he sounds like a didgeridoo…when singing his voice is as sweet and soars like a songbird. ‘Sweet bird of truth’.
Wonder if he used this producing the new New York Dolls CD?

Im never going to record an album but all I know is RiffWorks makes recoding fun an easy an it takes you from just playing guitar to making your own music. I play stuff I never wouldve with out it. I play for fun an riffworks makes it even more fun. An the instant drummer is outstanding makes me play better an sound better too.
